M. Elena Cabrera is the Director of Categorical Programs and Grants for Folsom Cordova Unified School District, provides training, technical assistance, and up to date information to district schools and departments regarding development and maintenance of local plans including data analysis, goal setting, and budget and program evaluation. The scope of service includes the following areas: English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), the Consolidated Application, Categorical Expenditures, the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) and the FPM Review. Elena facilitates oversight for state and federal programs: CSI, Title I, Title II, and Title III (EL.IMM), and Title IV, Expanded Learning Opportunities (ASES and Student Care) and Stakeholder Engagement.  
M. Elena Cabrera has worked in education for 30 years. She has been a teacher, district resource teacher, site assistant principal and principal, and district administrator. Over eight years, Elena established and facilitated Parent Summits to engage parent voice from affinity groups of underrepresented students (Hispanic, Black, Students with Disabilities and Asian American/Pacific Islander). Elena is passionate about working to eliminate achievement, access and opportunity gaps that exist for students, parents and staff in order maximize their opportunities for success.
