Collaborative systems are essential to ensure sustained success of a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. Collaboration includes students, families, teachers, and administration among school sites and levels. Opportunities for collaboration influence stakeholders’ perspectives in three ways; increasing connection to the DLI program and other stakeholders, reinforcing foundational goals as shared knowledge, and creating distributed leadership. Implementation of DLI programs with collaboration resulting in distributed leadership build community and provide a shared focus on goals.
