While the heuristic process of practicing critically conscious, culturally relevant pedagogy with high expectations is an experience educators discover individually, there is certainly something to be learned from the success and failures of others. This workshop offers practical elements, tried and tested in my own classroom, that can be explored as strategies to support the use of culturally relevant pedagogy in the classroom in a way that supports increased reading and writing competencies.
