Chicano Studies and Chicano Literature classes are offered to junior and senior Dual Language students in order to instill cultural identity, awareness, and pride. Through various activities students learn about the history of Chicanos through various themes that still affect their communities. The goal of the courses is that students graduate with passion for their culture, with a sense of empathy, and a resolve for positive change in their communities and the world around them.
I have been teaching for twelve years. For the last five years I have taught Chicano Literature and the co-coordinator of the Dual Language program at our site.
