For the past nine years, she led mixed-age laboratory preschool classrooms and mentored preservice teachers in child development and learning theories, curriculum design, anti-bias approaches to education, and critical reflective practice. Jenine's research on critical self-reflection and racial identity was recently published in a book entitled Documentation and Inquiry in the Early Childhood Classroom (Kroll & Meier, 2018). She presented her research on the topics of mentoring, reflective practice, racial identity, and racism in early childhood education at the International Association of Laboratory Schools conference and at the AERA conference. Jenine obtained her BA from UC Berkeley, her MA from Mills College in ECE with an emphasis on Special Education, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from Mills College. She also teaches the Mills College School of Education course on Qualitative Research Methodology to the graduate students.
