I learned the hard way that it is not enough being bilingual and biliterate to become a translator/interpreter. That is why I have spent many years becoming an expert in translating (UCSD) in K-12 settings, getting my adult teaching credential and working as district translator. This experience has allowed me to offer on-site translation/interpretation training to bilingual school throughout California, Oregon, and Texas. It also allows me to contribute to the meaningful communication schools provide NEP and LEP parents.
