Sabrina Aranda is a first-generation college student, born and raised in Hayward, California. Her interest in working for education peaked when she began volunteering as an AmeriCorps member for Jumpstart, a national nonprofit organization providing educational services to preschool students in low-income neighborhoods of San Francisco. Following her college experience, she returned to her hometown of Hayward to pursue her passion for providing services to students and parents. She has spent the last decade serving families in multiple capacities from afterschool, communications to family engagement. In her current role as the Hayward Unified School District’s Parent Engagement Coordinator, she organizes family engagement programs for over 33 schools and 14,000 parents. She has lead a number of innovative family engagement programs and recently increased her district’s parent participation rate by 300% in only two years. She works to build parent leadership and family engagement opportunities to support student academic outcomes and meet district Local Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. Sabrina holds a Master's in School Counseling from Brandman University. She is passionate about bringing change to communities around education and is the proud auntie of a niece and nephew.

She currently serves in the role of Director of Student and Parent Support Programs (SPSP) for the Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) and supports family engagement, newcomers and the Hayward Promise Neighborhood grant.
